Random Thought - One Hundred Years Ago

This happened. A war stopped so that the soldiers could celebrate Christmas. It didn't happen everywhere, and it only happened once - the Christmas Truce of 1914 would never be repeated. But for a brief period of time on December 24th and 25th, 1914, the carnage of World War I halted for a brief period so that men could sing together, drink together, exchange gifts, and play football. If only this sort of thing would happen more often.
